To promote the ideal of a clean and transparent company, KOPEC held a “Declaration for Clean Practice Meeting” at its auditorium on November 28. Some 400 people attended the meeting including the company’s president, auditor and the head of the Operations Headquarters. At this meeting, attendees sympathized with the importance of ethical management, recognizing ethical management as a key element to the survival of the company and as an important value in the drive to become a sustainable company.


The president emphasized the basic ethical standards that our society should observe, presenting the “window breaking” and “murder convict” of the New York market as examples to be avoided. He also emphasized the need for: 1) the board of directors and executives to take the lead in promoting clean practices; 2) an objective system to be established to prevent and expose internal irregularities; 3) disciplinary action against unethical conduct to be strengthened; and 4) the willingness of employees to accept a graded piece-rate through cleanness review systems.

Marking this year as the first year in the drive to implement ethical management practice, KOPEC will promote education to raise employees’ awareness of ethical standards, and introduce a more reinforced and substantial ethical management system as well as a review system to introduce and establish ethical management.
