KEPCO E&C, which makes the safety design of nuclear power plants its top priority, Has developed and Standardized Korean Standard Nuclear Power Plant(KSNP) as OPR1000. OPR1000 is 1000MW Class Pressurized water reactors, were built by the independent capabilities of KEPC E&C, and they boast the world`s top performance in rate of operation and safety. In particular, KEPCO E&C constructed APR1400 Nuclear Power Plant in the United Arab Emirates(UAE) which a reactor type for export developed with Korea`s indigenous technology, has been highly regarded for its excellent operation and maintenance convenience, constructability, economic efficiency, and safety.
We also endeavoring our dedicated efforts to ensure that nuclear energy becomes a sustainable and reliable power generation source by developing export-type reactors that reflect the latest European Utility Requirements(EUR) Requirements, developing new nuclear reactor facilities based on nuclear fusion and the Small Modular Reactor(SMR) that are heralded as infinite clean energy, and establishing an accident management plan for safe nuclear reactor operations.
In particular, we possess and improve engineering capabilities for the entire life cycle of nuclear reactor facilities and have expanded our business domain by taking charge of nuclear power plant decommissioning projects linked to permanent shutdown as well as back-end of nuclear fuel cycle projects aimed at the safe disposal of spent nuclear fuel.
