Site selection and environmental assessment
Environmental impact assessment
The environmental impact assessment is conducted to induce sound and sustainable development by predicting and evaluating the impact of the plan or development project on the environment. At KEPCO E&C, we boast experts with diverse experience and the latest evaluation technology in meteorology, geology, biology, marine, environmental engineering, and numerical modeling. Moreover, we utilize our extensive project implementation experience to provide optimal services tailored to the project characteristics and evaluation period.
Since 1982 when the environmental assessment system was introduced, KEPCO E&C has secured professionals in meteorology, geology, biology, oceanography, ecology, environmental engineering, and data processing to conduct environmental assessments of hydro/thermal power plants, nuclear power plants, transmission lines, wind power generation, and other industrial facilities.
In particular, we leverage our specialized technology to provide differentiated services such as site development feasibility study based on environmental survey and analysis air quality impact assessment and warm drainage diffusion analysis based on 3D numerical models and 3D landscape simulation.
Strategic environmental impact assessment
The strategic environmental impact assessment is the evaluation of environmental aspects in the early stages of various action plans or development projects, in accordance with the Framework Act on Environmental Policy.
KEPCO E&C provides technical services that foster harmony between development and conservation while promoting sustainable development based on environmental impact, encompassing factors such as site feasibility, and the alignment with the surrounding environment.
Post-environmental impact study
The post-environmental impact study is a follow-up measure of the environmental impact assessment. It assesses the environmental impact of project implementation and proposes necessary measures to fulfill the environmental impact assessment agreement, aligning with the client's requirements. Moreover, we accurately identify customer challenges related to environmental management at business sites during the post-environmental impact study period, subsequently provide solutions to the pending issues to prevent customer disadvantages resulting from non-compliance with the agreed terms.
