Transmission and substation business
Transmission projects
KEPCO E&C boasts abundant experience and new technologies for transmitting 154kV, 345kV, 765kV UHV, and 500kV HADC (high voltage DC transmission). In addition, by securing various achievements and technologies, such as transmitting high-voltage DC between Jeju Island and the mainland through submarine cables, we provide optimal technical services required for transmission line design. Specifically, we successfully performed the basic design of the world's first ultra-large offshore 345kV transmission tower and Korea's first 765kV UHV transmission tower. We are also faithfully carrying out the basic design of a 500kV HVDC transmission tower.
Main tasks
Surveying for transmission line
Basic and detailed designs of transmission lines

Substation project
For the transmission and substation construction projects that stably supply electricity produced at the power plant to industries and households, which are the end users, KEPCO E&C began designing the 345 kV Shinjecheon substation in 1979 and has actively participated in substation design, equipment purchase, construction, and supervision projects for steel ball and GIS systems from 154 kV to 765 kV step-up voltage. Major projects include the GIS (Gas Insulated Switchgear) design of outdoor substation facilities, standardization design of indoor substation, creation of 756 kV substation design standards (draft), design service for 765 kV Shinanseong and Shinseosan substations, the overseas 230 kV switchyard design and equipment supply project, and the 500kV substation turnkey construction.
