#APR 1400

The APR1400, the Korean indigenous model, features remarkably improved safety, high profile technology, operational convenience and economy. APR1400 was especially applied to UAE BNPP Units 1–4 in 2010, the first export model of Korean nuclear power plant. The standard design of EU-APR, the EU-export model of APR1400, acquired the EUR certificate in 2017, and APR1400 acquired the design certificate (DC) from the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC). We expect to kickstart the export of nuclear reactor plants besides the UAE.

BANDI, KEPCO E&C’s brand for SMR, is a small nuclear reactor plant with a thermal output of 200 MW and an electricity output of 60 MW that can generate the energy needed for electricity and heating free of GHG emissions in remote areas such as small cities, isolated islands, and deserts. KEPCO E&C is developing the technology by utilizing proven technology in commercial power plants as much as possible. Furthermore, KEPCO E&C has participated in the government-led innovative SMR for developing its standard design and acquiring a license.

EPC project in Indonesia

The project, which has performed by a Korean-Indonesian consortium comprising KEPCO E&C and Adhi Karya (an Indonesian public construction company), aims to construct one 30 MW unit in Sumbawa, situated east of Jakarta, Indonesia, along with one 20 MW unit and one 10 MW unit in Tobelo, located northeast of Jakarta.
Gas engine power plants boast low carbon emissions, offer flexible operation with small-scale facilities, and feature relatively short construction periods. Anticipating growing demand in Indonesia, we aim to secure new business opportunities based on the success of this project.
