Gas engine power plant EPC project in Indonesia
The project, contracted between PT. PLN (Indonesia's state electricity company) and the Korea-Indonesia consortium (KEPCO E&C and Adhi Karya, an Indonesian state-owned construction company), involves the construction of one 30MW unit on Sumbawa Island, located east of Jakarta, and one 20MW unit and one 10MW unit on Tobelo Island, situated northeast of Jakarta. KEPCO E&C's role in this EPC project includes the procurement and transportation of major equipment, as well as project management support. Gas engine power plants are known for their relatively low carbon emissions, flexible operation enabled by small-scale facilities, and shorter construction periods. With these advantages, demand for such plants is expected to continue growing in Indonesia, an archipelagic country. KEPCO E&C seeks to leverage the success of these projects to expand our footprint in future projects.
