KEPCO E&C held a “workshop on the enhancement of information security awareness and creation of culture of integrity” for partner firms at its head office in Yongin. Attending the event on June 24 were more than 120 people including executives from partner firms.

At the workshop, KEPCO E&C explained its security policy and shared guidelines for security standards in order to prevent security breaches preemptively including hacking through a partner firm.

KEPCO E&C also gave a briefing on the causes of and countermeasures for anti-social security violation cases that have occurred across the nation in recent years, in order to seek ways for cooperation in coping with the fast changing information security environment.

Additionally, KEPCO E&C explained the “Code of ethics for partner firms,” which it established in 2013 with the aim of preventing corruption and creating a corporate culture of integrity, and urged all parties including KEPCO E&C and its partner firms to continue to establish the practice of honest trade.

Furthermore, KEPCO E&C introduced the whistleblowing systems it is operating, including Shinmungo (Whistleblowing Drum) and Red Whistle for reporting corruptions, and vowed to root out corruptions and factors of irregularities preemptively.

Through the workshop, KEPCO E&C plans to redouble efforts to continue a long partnership as partners of coexistence rather than players engaged in simple cooperation, cognizant of the fact that the most basic factors for information security and culture of integrity are the foundation for true co-prosperity and shared growth.
