 On May 23, KEPCO E&C won the top award in the Energy & Utility category for excellence in ESG management performance at the 2023 Most Sustainable Companies in Korea Awards ceremony held at the Korea Press Center. The candidates were evaluated to select the winners of the Korea's Sustainability Leaders 2023 hosted by Hankook Ilbo, Korea Times, Statista, based on open and objective data, such as annual reports and sustainability reports by each company among over 1,200 listed companies in South Korea. Then, they selected 150 companies adopting good ESG management practices. This year, they entrusted the evaluation to Statista, a global evaluation company in Germany, for fair and objective assessments. They also chose the most outstanding companies from 19 industry sectors. As a result, KEPCO E&C was selected as the winner in the energy & utility category, Samsung C&T in the construction & infrastructure category, and LG Energy Solution in the electrical & electronic devices category. Statista, a world-renowned data analysis and evaluation firm based in Germany, conducted a survey of 3,000 respondents in South Korea for an ESG-based reputation assessment. Then, they carried out a fair and objective evaluation for six months by strictly excluding companies that were involved in activities that adversely affect ESG management. This award marks a key milestone for the company to elevate its brand value. KEPCO E&C will continue to embrace robust ESG management practices to pioneer a more sustainable future for all. |
