KEPCO E&C held the Labor-Management Vision Declaration Ceremony for Sustainable Growth and Breakthroughs

On May 16 (Tuesday), KEPCO E&C held the Labor-Management Vision Declaration Ceremony for Sustainable Growth and Breakthroughs at the first floor of the main auditorium from 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm.
The event was organized to declare the future vision of the labor union and KEPCO E&C in concert and reaffirm the commitment to forge ahead, with 600 employees and 14 honored guests attending, including Gyeongbuk Governor Lee Cheol-woo, Gimcheon Mayor Kim Chung-seop, and Kyungpook National University President Hong Won-hwa.
At the ceremony, KEPCO E&C announced the mantra of “Technology for Earth, Energy for Human” as the future vision shared by the labor and management and proposed six action plans and the future vision. These involve setting up an organization in charge of the entire life cycle of nuclear power plants, developing proprietary nuclear reactors 100% built in South Korea, and floating offshore nuclear power plants equipped with small modular reactors (SMRs or BANDIs), expanding future technologies that surpasses digital transition; achieving greater work-life balance, creating sustainable workplaces for healthier and happier employees, and making social contribution for local communities and cooperating for shared prosperity.
At the MOU signing ceremony during the event, officials from 11 organizations in all participated, including the municipality office, universities, and companies, and pledged to cooperate in developing technologies of the future and creating social value through inclusive growth, at the vanguard of SMR technology and school-industry collaborations.
In his opening remarks, KEPCO E&C President & CEO Kim Sung-Arm said, “We have faced many challenges posed by rapid shifts in energy policy. In the process of overcoming crisis, labor and management have jointly formed a consensus on many fronts. Now, we will be re-established as a reputable public agency that reinforces the safety of nuclear power plants and contributes to energy security, with greater public trust placed in us and a firm consensus between an even more competent and cohesive labor and management.”
