On March 6, KEPCO E&C signed a contract for the ‘Ulsan Green 1 complex construction design and technology service’ with Korea East-West Power Co., Ltd., the ordering client. Under this comprehensive design and technology service contract, KEPCO E&C is exclusively tasked with constructing a 990MW class natural gas combined cycle power plant using clean natural gas fuel at the client’s Ulsan thermal power headquarters in Ulsan Metropolitan City, and performs the basic design, detailed design and customer support services. The Ulsan Green 1 Combined Power Plant is the plant built to replace the aging Ulsan 2 and 3 Combined Cycle Power Plants. It will contribute to the goal of carbon neutrality through achieving the nationally determined contribution (NDC) target for GHG reductions, by incorporating hydrogen-enriched combustion based on high-efficiency power plant design technology. KEPCO E&C plans to solidify its position as a world-leading energy company and set the groundwork for overseas business expansion by securing replacement design technology for aging coal-fired and combined cycle power plants with advanced high-efficiency power generation facilities and carbon-free power generation design technology. |
