KEPCO E&C received new certification as an excellent institution, the “Best Human Resources Developer (Best HRD) 2021 in the Public Sector” jointly sponsored by the Ministry of Education and Ministry of Personnel Management and managed by the Korea Research Institute for Vocational Education & Training.

The "Certification for Excellent Institutions in Human Resource Development” program has been operated since 2006 to promote investment in human resource development and strengthen competitiveness by establishing exemplary standards in human resource development and management and identifying and certifying excellent public institutions that have achieved them.

The program certified the final 45 public institutions (15 new institutions and 30 re-certified institutions) after the first document review, the second field review, and the certification committee review based on 37 screening indicators consisting of human resource management (hiring, assignment, etc.) and human resource development (human resource training, career management, etc.).

KEPCO E&C received high scores for its efforts to strengthen world-class technological capabilities, such as establishing a competency-specific education system and a step-by-step job training system each year and proactively using the outcomes for enhancing design capabilities for domestic and foreign nuclear and thermal power plants and responding to energy conversion policies such as new and renewable projects.

Institutions with the certification will enjoy various benefits such as exemption from regular labor supervision for three years and permit to use for three years the certificate and certification plaque issued jointly by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Personnel Management.

"Receiving the Best HRD certification is recognition that KEPCO E&C’s system, infrastructure, educational curriculum, and personnel system have reached a certain level as a technology-oriented company. Starting with this certification, KEPCO E&C will continue to develop excellent human resources steadily despite the difficult environments such as changing energy policies and intensifying competition in overseas power markets,” KEPCO E&C CEO Kim Sung-arm said.
