Successful Export of Nuclear Plant Pipe Wall Thinning Management Program (ToSPACE)

KEPCO E&C’s in-house venture, selected first in an employee contest, succeeded in exporting its product ToSPACE.
ToSPACE is a program that manages pipe wall thinning in nuclear power plants and has functions like 3D DB construction, sensitivity analysis, pipe wall thinning prediction, inspection data analysis, and long-term inspection planning.
The program was selected as the final winner in a heated competition with products from leading countries, such as the United States and France, in bidding for the pipe wall thinning management software solution held by the UAE nuclear power plant operator Nawah.
The amount of the ToSPACE contract with the scope including the program delivery, confirmation/verification, and training, is about 700 million won.
KEPCO E&C expects follow-up contracts for BNPP Units 3 and 4 as well as the maintenance.
“We plan to focus on selling ToSPACE to nuclear power plants in emerging and developed countries and develop new modules to apply the technology to thermal and combined-cycle power plants,” said Hwang Gyeong-mo, the CEO of the in-house venture.
