Objective of Consulting Services

Defensible, unbiased estimates of DSHA and PSHA of 4 NPP sites in Korea are expected through this consultation. The contractor shall perform the rolls of Project Technical Integrator (PTI) and Participatory Peer Review Panels (PPRPs) and assist KHNP and KEPCO E&C to achieve the objectives of the project. 



Scope of Services

 Workshop 1 : Orientation workshop for SSHAC process training and development of project plan

Assemble Panels of International Peer Reviewer

    - Retain PPRPs of three internationally recognized xperts with both SSHAC and PSHA experience

    - 
Take responsibility for make sub-contract agreement with 3 PPRPs

      - 
The PPRPs will attend Workshop 2 & 3 and review the Final SSHAC documentation report and DSHA & PSHA results

    - 
Contractor will assist the PSHA calculation and provide comments and suggestions for changes and sensitivity results

    - 
Contractor will assist the Site Response analysis and provide comments and suggestions for changes and sensitivity results

 Workshop 2 : Significant Issues, Data Needs and Alternative Models

    -  PTI will facilitate Workshop 2

    - SSHAC Training & Elicitation Training

    - Review of Project Plan

    - Discuss Significant Issues & Data needs

    - Discuss Alternative proponent models

    - Consulting on elicitation process of DSHA input parameters

    - Consulting on analysis of historical & instrumental EQ catalogues

    - Consulting on uncertainties of historical & instrumental EQ catalogues and its usage to DSHA

    - Provide case studies of DSHA for NPP licensing (i.e. Reg. 1.60)

    - Hazard input parameters for both of PSHA & DSHA will be discussed in the Workshop 2

    -  PTI and 3 PPRPs will participate in the workshop

 Working Meeting: Process of Evaluation and Integration

    - PTI will facilitate Working Meetings of TI groups (SSC, GMC, SRC)

      Evaluate all the data from workshop 2

    - Integrate the data into a preliminary seismic source model, ground motion model and site response model

    - PTI will attend one of the working meetings and participate by teleconference call for other working meetings

    - PTI will assist to make the Hazard Input Documents (HIDs) for DSHA & PSHA

    - Contractor will provide review comments of the Hazard sensitivity analysis

 Workshop 3: Model Version 1 Hazard Feedback Workshop

    - PTI will facilitate Workshop 3

    -
Present the SSC, GMC and SRC models

    - Present the results of the hazard sensitivity study

    - Evaluate the range and appropriateness of uncertainty used for the significant contributors to hazard

    - Discuss additional work or studies that can be performed to reduce the uncertainty

      - Consulting on a preliminary DSHA result

    - Consulting and review on the input parameters of DSHA

    - Consulting and review on the DSHA process applied

    - Contractor will review the final hazard analysis and identification for the significant contributors to hazard

    - Contractor will review the final site response analysis

    - PTI and 3 PPRPs will participate in the workshop

Working Meeting: Elicitation for final SSC, GMC, SRC models

    - PTI will Facilitate Working Meetings of TI groups (SSC, GMC, SRC)

    - Evaluate final SSC, GMC, SRC models

    - PTI and PPRPs will assist to make the Hazard Input Documents (HIDs) for DSHA & PSHA

    - PTI and PPRPs will respond to questions via teleconference call or email

Workshop 4: Final SSC and GMC Model and site hazard results

    - PTI will Facilitate Workshop 4

    - Present final SSC, GMC, SRC models

    - Present final DSHA & PSHA sensitivity results

    - PTI will attend the workshop

Peer Review of Draft and Final Report & Recommendations Developement

    - KEPCO E&C will prepare a report summarizing the SSC, GMC, SRC final models, results of the hazard analysis, and recommendations for further work or studies. PTI and PPRPs will review the draft report and provide comments for incorporation into the Final Report.



Method of Performance

○ The Contractor shall perform the Services and submit the deliverable documentations(Presentation file, Review Report, Workshop summary report) to KEPCO-E&C within 14 days after the completion of each task.

○ 
KEPCO-E&C should provide the Contractor with technical data relating to the consultation.

○ The Contractor should have a license for execution and modification of the code of FRISK88M.
