Task 1: SI will discuss with U.S. nuclear utilities the potential to allow the sharing of information necessary for an effective buried pipe management program with KEPCO E&C. SI will target U.S. utilities similar in design to Kori Units 1 and 2 (i.e., Kewaunee and Prairie Island, respectively) or other sites with which SI has a strong buried pipe project relationship (e.g., Calvert Cliffs, Nine Mile Point, Ginna, Comanche Peak, Grand Gulf, etc.) that use SI’s MAPProView™ tools for accessing their EPRI BPWorks™ 2.0 buried pipe database information. Task 2: SI will advise KEPCO E&C on data acquisition methodologies for absent data elements. Task 3: SI will facilitate plant visits and technical meetings with U.S. utilities to discuss their experience with the development of an effective program for buried piping systems. The quantity and quality of information integrated into the buried piping program at Kori will probably impact the usefulness of the program. An interview process with a buried piping systems engineer at nuclear power plants in the U.S. will be used to augment the data beyond any original design and construction information discovered in the plant’s records (Kori Units 1 and 2). The type of data to be reviewed with these site system engineers may include(If it is available by plant staffs): • Latest buried pipe program documentation. |
