MOU with ASSYSTEM of France

On December 12, KEPCO E&C signed an MOU with French engineering company ASSYSTEM in Paris, France.

Attended by officials from both companies including KEPCO E&C President Lee Bae-soo and ASSYSTEM Chairman Stephane Aubarbier, the signing ceremony was followed by in-depth discussions on practical cooperative measures related to business, the exchange of human resources, and the expansion of technical cooperation.

“By signing an MOU with ASSYSTEM, KEPCO E&C with extensive experience in the European market for nuclear power plants, and conducting their test operations, we look forward to carrying out lively exchanges of human resources and technology between the two sides, and taking this wonderful opportunity to discover cooperative ideas and make joint advances in the nuclear power business, such as LTEA in the UAE and ITER,” declared President Lee.

Aubarbier also expressed interest in human resources exchanges and joint business advancement with KEPCO E&C, and the hope that the two companies will be able to cooperate on the development of such projects as the LTEA in the UAE, El-Dabaa in Egypt, and MOMENTUM with regard to ITER.

Under the MOU the two companies have agreed to cooperate in the following areas: construction of new nuclear power plants in the Middle East and Europe; projects in the current nuclear power plants such as LTEA in the UAE; management of nuclear wastes and dismantling of nuclear plants; R&D on a small modular reactor; and technical cooperation in such areas as the development of professional human resources exchange programs in the field of test operations.

KEPCO E&C expects this MOU to yield tangible results including joint advancement in the European and Middle East nuclear power plant markets and the dispatch of professional human resources in the test operations of the plants.
