On September 3, our company signed an MOU with Hyundai Cement and Korea Southern Power (KOSPO) on the Hyundai Cement Danyang Wind Power Generation Project.

At the signing ceremony, held at the head office of KOSPO in Samseong-dong, Seoul, ten delegates from the related parties, including An Seung-kyoo, CEO of KOPEC, Nam Ho-ki, CEO of KOSPO, and Kim Ho-il, CEO of Hyundai Cement, were present.

For the Danyang Wind Power Project, Hyundai Cement will develop the top of the lime mine of its Danyang Cement Plant in Chungcheonbuk-do, which is scheduled for closure by the end of 2010, into a 20-MW wind farm, with total investment of approximately USD40M.

The MOU covers the cooperation of the three companies on a wind resource survey and a feasibility study of the project. Specifically, Hyundai Cement will provide the land and support the feasibility study, KOSPO will perform the wind power resource survey and the feasibility study, and our company will determine the required technologies and assess the project’s applicability.

CEO An said, “The green energy market and the related technology development will be further promoted through the joint development of this wind farm project with Hyundai Cement and KOSPO. In addition, the joint project will serve as the foundation for further cooperation between the participants.”

Our company will secure competitive power in the global market for new and renewable energy, which is a next-generation growth engine, based on sustained cooperation and communication.
