KEPCO E&C, in cooperation with ITER Korea and Moojin Keeyeon, received the order for the project to design and supply a scrubber tank for the hydrogen mitigation system as part of International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER) from the ITER organization on October 1.

Although the company has faced many difficulties due to the insufficient project experience and reference in the specific technical requirements in Europe, in particular, it finally won the order for the project through the close cooperation with ITER Korea and the technical analysis and competitive analysis based on its extensive experience.

KEPCO E&C has carried out various programs for shared growth with domestic small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the energy conversion period and invested jointly with small nuclear reactor equipment manufacturers for technical support and development of overseas sales channels.

“The winning of this project order is significant in that it presents a breakthrough for the domestic nuclear industry in the energy conversion period. We plan to lead the efforts for realization of social value such as the joint overseas market entry and job creation with SMEs as a public enterprise by promoting the equipment export model,” Jin Tae-eun, the Head of Nuclear Division at KEPCO E&C, said.
