KEPCO E&C is Korea’s only nuclear reactor design company that develops future eco-friendly energy technologies and manages all phases from start to finish of nuclear power plants to support a clear and clean global environment and enrich people’s lives.
We at KEPCO E&C have pursued national economic growth by leading the design of nuclear reactor facilities and thermal power plants for the past 40 years and faithfully executed our role as an organization responsible for the design of nuclear reactor facilities throughout the entire cycle from construction to decommissioning of nuclear power plants, prioritizing public safety.
We have exported APR1400, the next-generation nuclear reactor design technology with greatly improved safety and economic efficiency, to the United Arab Emirates and raised Korea’s prestige in cutting-edge nuclear power technology to the next level. Furthermore, we strive to identify and kickstart promising new businesses, including combined cycle power generation and offshore wind power generation in the thermal and new business areas, reducing greenhouse gases (GHG) and creating a clean global environment in the process.

In particular, KEPCO E&C is focusing its capabilities on small modular reactors (SMR), such as BANDI, KEPCO E&C’s original model for offshore floating SMR and relentless R&D of core technologies for next-generation nuclear reactor facilities, including passive safety system design technology. We are also actively responding to digital transformation, including automatic design and engineering chatbots, and climate change, by utilizing green and clean hydrogen for power plant fuel. Moreover, we are strengthening our capabilities for future energy security.

We also participate in research led by the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER) on nuclear fusion energy, recognized as eco-friendly and infinite energy, to prepare future growth engines and develop new growth businesses.

KEPCO E&C is always committed to becoming an energy company with complete and safe design technology for humankind.
KEPCO E&C exported APR1400 nuclear power design to the United Arab Emirates for the first time in 2009 and subsequently won orders for maintaining engineering projects for operational nuclear reactor facilities, corroborating the excellence of Korean nuclear power plants to the global market once again.
Moreover, we have advanced into a global power plant engineering company by successfully implementing EPC (engineering, procurement, construction) projects in Africa and Indonesia. Furthermore, we aim to enter overseas markets such as the Americas and Europe by introducing excellent Korean nuclear power plant technology, as evidenced by the EU APR certification of European export model APR1000 and the DC certification of APR1400 by the U.S. NRC
