KOPEC signed MOU with Qingdao Kaiyuan Group at Sea View Garden Hotel in Qingdao, China at 11:00 a.m. on July 13 for new power plant construction projects, joint ventures in FGD/DeNOx systems and management exchange in the participation of Lim Sung-Choon, CEO of KOPEC, Liu Xingwu of Kaiyuan Group and employees of the two companies.

 According to the MOU, KOPEC and Kaiyuan Group will exchange power plant engineering, management, performance improvement and environment technologies while also carrying out joint projects.

 Established in 1984, Qingdao Kaiyuan Group Co., Ltd. based in Qingdao, Shandong, is the largest heat and electricity supplier in Qingdao with a total of 16 subsidiary companies like Qingdao Kaiyuan Heating Power Designing and Researching Institute Co. Ltd. as well as four heat and power supply companies including Qingdao Houhai Heating & Power Co. Ltd. Besides supplying electricity and heat, some of its major businesses include construction, power plant reparation, heat supply system engineering, manufacturing of heat preservation materials and international trade.

 The MOU with the Chinese company is a great opportunity for KOPEC to jointly participate in Chinese projects related to power plant engineering, power plant rehabilitation, performance improvement, system renovation and supply of FGD/DeNOx systems. KOPEC plans to strengthen the cooperative relationship through continuous technology and personnel exchange.
