| Contract Overview | Physical Protection System Project (PPS) shall provide design and security features that protect the plant from acts of malevolent sabotage that could result in release of radiological materials to the public. PPS will be installed in four phases, with each phase corresponding to the Unit receiving fuel. The Phase 1 and 2 of the PPS projects was completed, and provided all AE designs required for the security infrastructure for Phase 1 and 2. Due to the aggressive schedule demanded by owner and complex Requirements and Interface from multiple stakeholders such as CICPA, ENEC, ATLAS and HSJV, the experience of BNPP PPS 1&2 should be necessary for the success in PPS 3&4. Therefore, objective of the contract is to consult all AE designs required for the security infrastructure for Phase 1 and 2 with all of the interface and design co-ordination between CICPA, Security Integrator and Site Security based on the AE experience for Phase 1 and 2 of the PPS projects. Due to the aggressive schedule, the contractor should be required to have the previous experience and background knowledge of Barakah PPS project which makes KEPCO E&C perform the Phase 3 and 4 project effectively and efficiently. |

S&L have experiences obtained from performing the BNPP Phase 1 and 2 PPS AE design, as well as the extensive knowledge base from supporting numerous security projects at US Nuclear facilities. Therefore, the contract with S&L is essential for successful solution for Barakah NPP Physical Protection System Project Phase 3 & 4 in a timely manner. |
