In commemoration of the 70th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, KEPCO E&C held the KEPCO E&C Human Rights Management Declaration Ceremony at its headquarters in Gimcheon on November 1.

Attendees including KEPCO E&C CEO Lee Bae-soo, the labor union’s Secretary-General Lee Hae-ik, internal auditor Lee Dong-geun, and other senior officials vowed to build a corporate culture that respects humans.

Jointly held by labor and management, the ceremony program included a report on the status and planning of human rights management by the innovative growth strategy director, CEO’s declaration of human rights management, a representative employee’s recitation of the human rights management charter, participants’ pledge to implement human rights management, and a lecture from a human rights expert.

“Recent violations of human rights related to corporate activities are becoming a social issue both at home and abroad. All of our employees should comply with human rights laws and regulations as well as practice respect for human rights with the aim of becoming a human-centered global energy specialist company that can be trusted by the public,” CEO Lee Bae-soo stressed.

Based on the results of a human rights impact assessment, KEPCO E&C will continue to implement human rights management in an effort to protect and promote the human rights of stakeholders including employees.
