On September 5 KEPCO E&C signed an MOU for business cooperation with the Kumoh National Institute of Technology (KIT) on the joint implementation of projects involving the training of local talents and the construction of infrastructure for new and renewable energy.

The signing event was attended by representatives from both parties including acting CEO of KEPCO E&C Jo Jik-Lae and Lee Jae-Won acting on behalf of the president of KIT.

KEPCO E&C will cooperate with KIT in various areas including the development of human resources, the establishment and execution of innovative business plans, the joint proposal of R&D programs, and the development of new and renewable energy projects for next three years.

In particular, the two parties will focus on identifying and commercializing new energy-related projects, such as the “New & Renewable Energy Infrastructure Building Project,” by utilizing the core competences of each party.

Moreover, they will exchange their excellent human and physical resources to train and promote the employment of local human resources in the Gyeongbuk province.

“This MOU is significant in that it establishes the basis for cooperative collaboration with KIT to train creative convergent human talents just as KEPCO E&C is entering the new energy business. I hope that it will become a new model for successful academic-industrial cooperation,” Jo Jik-Lae, acting CEO of KEPCO E&C, said.

“We will focus our competences on the creation of a new growth engine for the energy industries. I expect that cooperation with KEPCO E&C will lay solid foundations for further national economic development,” said Lee Jae-Won, acting on behalf of the KIT president.

KEPCO E&C aims to build the cooperative collaboration partnership with KIT to create a new success model for successful academic-industrial cooperation.
