KEPCO E&C spreads the culture of ethical management through various upright ethics activities.

In accordance with the “Anti-Corruption and Bribery Prohibition Act (Kim Young-ran Act),” KEPCO E&C conducted various upright ethics activities to spread the culture of ethical management.

1. 2016 Week of Upright Ethics

First, KEPCO E&C held the 2016 Week of Upright Ethics from October 12 to 13.

On October 12, around 200 officers and employees watched the ethics play “Good Makers.” The play depicted situations wherein an employee of our company strives to create an upright organization.

In addition, on October 13, 20 ethical management keepers from the headquarters participated in a “professional ethics development course” that includes teaching design and lecture delivery, lecture technique, and lectures on upright qualities in order to develop qualities as experts in upright communication.

2. Upright ethics training and ethics oath customized to positions

In addition, from October 5 to November 1, KEPCO E&C is conducting upright ethics training customized by position for all employees. This training, which consists of self-diagnosis on upright ethics, basic course on upright ethics, in-depth course, leader course, and executive course, is being held in order by position.

Moreover, it is providing online education on “learning about the Bribery Prohibition Act” for officers and employees in order to prevent confusion in the early stage of the Bribery Prohibition Act and to ensure its early settlement.

This program features the major contents of the Bribery Prohibition Act, possible cases of violations, and methods for handling such situations.

After completing the training, the officers and employees reinforce their will for practicing upright behaviors by signing the “Oath on the prohibition of anti-corruption and bribery.”

3. Diagnosis of corruption risk for high officials

Apart from such activities, KEPCO E&C conducted integrity evaluation for 178 high officials (employees above department head) on October 4-14 in order to have high officials assume leadership in upright ethics by showing exemplary models.

The evaluation was conducted using the method of multilateral evaluation wherein it was taken not only by the employees but also their peers and subordinates. The person was directly notified of the result of the evaluation.

The result of the pilot evaluation for 24 officers and major department heads in the first half of the year showed the need for examining possible corruptions in the business process, which were overlooked as customs without much significance. It earned raves for being an opportunity for making self-diagnosis for ensuring fair business customs.

Accordingly, KEPCO E&C expanded the subjects of integrity evaluation to employees above department heads, and the subjects will continue to be increased gradually in the future.
