KEPCO E&C conducted visits by a number of small vendors to a power plant site on March 29 and 30. Hosted by Hyeok-chun Kwon, deputy director of the Wolsong project site, a group of seventy-six working level employees sent by fourty five vendors including Samy Industrial visited Unit No. 1’s main control room and turbine room.

The purpose of the visit was to improve the design quality by increasing the vendor employees’ understanding of the work and to engender sympathy for shared growth by promoting communication between large and small companies. KEPCO E&C has been running the site visit once a year as part of a shared growth support program since 2007.

During the visit, the company hosted a special lecture titled ‘Understanding Nuclear Waste’ as the nuclear energy promotional education of the month to address the general anti-nuclear tendency, and provided a channel for communication and networking among people in the same industry and for sharing the current difficulties and issues of vendors.

KEPCO E&C plans to continue the power plant site visit program in order to strengthen the technical capability of the small vendor employees and promote the grounds for shared growth as well as to mitigate the nationwide antipathy towards the nuclear industry.
