The completion ceremony of the Shin-Kori Unit 3 Reactor Containment Building (RCB) Dome was held on the ground in Ulsan, Korea on December 28th, 2010. The Shin-Kori Unit 3 is the first model of Advanced Power Reactor 1400 (APR1400) widely considered to open a new chapter of the nuclear power industry.

The ceremony was prepared in an aspiration to successfully complete the construction through final concrete pouring on the top dome used for radiation shield. Some two years have been passed since the first concrete pouring on November 1st, 2008 to what the Shin-Kori Unit 3 RCB Dome is today. Many people recognize the achievement geared by the great effort of all those involved in the project for planning & design, materials purchase and large equipment installation works including structures, steam generators and nuclear reactors.

The distinguished guests attending the ceremony took a group photo to celebrate the historic moment on the top dome of the nuclear power plant despite the fiercely cold weather.

As of late November 2010, the overall project progress of the Shin-Kori Unit 3 & 4 is about 63 percent, awaiting the completion of Unit 3 by September 2013 and Unit 4 by September 2014.
