| Reason(s) for the Sole Sourcing | Structural Integrity Associates, Inc. (SI) been involved in application of LBB technology since the company was formed in 1983. SI obtained ownership of the PICEP software from EPRI in 2011 and has developed a safety related Windows-based version of this software called SI-PICEP. In addition, SI is proficient in all aspects of fracture mechanics required to perform LBB evaluation including linear elastic fracture mechanics (LEFM), elastic-plastic fracture mechanics (EPFM), limit load analysis and probabilistic fracture mechanics (PFM). SI has developed fracture mechanics software tools in this regard including, pc-CRACK™, beyond-PRAISE, SmartCrack, among many others. SI also has very strong capabilities in thermal hydraulics applications for determination of leakage through cracks. |
