KEPCO E&C held a meeting to kick off the supply of nuclear reactor parts including rings & sleeves for Darlington Nuclear Plant Units 1, 3 and 4 at the SNC Lavalin-Aecon Joint Venture HQ in Oakville, Canada on May 29.

The meeting was attended by Lee Gwang-won, Senior Vice President, and PM Son Jong-ju from KEPCO E&C, and officials from the joint venture including PM Marcy Sanderson.

KEPCO E&C won the project to supply equipment for Darlington Nuclear Power Plant Units 1, 3 and 4 in March of this year after submitting a supply proposal in November 2016, in the wake of its acquisition of the Darlington Unit 2 project in 2015.

The equipment is scheduled for delivery to Unit 3 in January 2019, Unit 1 in July 2020, and Unit 4 in February 2021.

At the meeting, Mr. Lee Gwang-won expressed his pleasure about the acquisition of the equipment supply project for Darlington Nuclear Power Plant Units 1, 3 and 4, and his gratitude for the support and cooperation extended by the joint venture in the process of executing the Unit 2 equipment supply project.

Having won the projects to supply equipment for Darlington nuclear plants, KEPCO E&C is expected to accelerate its advance into the Canadian nuclear power market, as Bruce Power recently requested that KEPCO E&C "share its experience in project execution concerning the supply of nuclear reactor parts.”
