On December 15, 2010, a ceremony to celebrate the completion of Blast Furnace Gas Fired Power Plant for Hyundai Green Power Co., Ltd. was held at the construction site in Dangjin, South Chungcheong Province. KEPCO E&C provided owner’s engineering service for Hyundai Green Power.

To celebrate the successful construction completion, Executive Vice President Chi-Seon Park of KEPCO E&C and many guests from Hyundai Green Power, Korea Midland Power, Daelim Industrial, and Daewoo Engineering & Construction attended the ceremony. 

The project is to build a 4 unit power plant, producing 400MW electricity and steam by utilizing Blast Furnace Gas(BFG) from 2 blast furnaces in the Hyundai Steel’s integrated steel works which is located near the power plant.

KEPCO E&C was highly credited with its outstanding performance of providing owner’s engineering service in the project by Owner, Hyundai Green Power. In addition, KEPCO E&C won a subsequent project for Unit 5-8, providing owner’s engineering services.

This project is meaningful because KEPCO E&C participated in a BFG power plant project for the first time. KEPCO E&C expects that experience and know-how accumulated in the project will be a steppingstone to taking the advantageous position first in similar future projects.
