     Task 1. Review on the static instability evaluation

Static two-phase natural circulation instability evaluation results provided by KEPCO-E&C will be reviewed.

-           P&ID, Isometric drawings, System design criteria, System function deion, Ledinegg Instability calculation will be provided.

-           Principle of static two-phase natural circulation instability evaluation

-           Principle of two-phase pressure drop calculations

-           Equivalent channel assumption for SG

-           Resistance coefficient, K calculation

-           Correlations for two-phase pressure drop

-           Driving head

-           Consideration of waterlevel change

-           Evaluation ranges (power, subcooling, pressure, etc.) for developing instability map

-           Instability map

     Task 2. Provide major static instabilities of PAFS

Major static instabilities that can occur in PAFS and evaluation methods for these instabilities will be presented and compared with static instability evaluation results provided by KEPCO-E&C.

-           Static instabilities which can occur in a two-phase natural circulation system

-           Evaluation methodology for each static instability

-           Selection of static instabilities for APR+ PAFS and evaluation

-           Instability maps

-           Comparison of selected static instabilities with static instability evaluation results provided by KEPCO-E&C

     Task 3. Provide major dynamic instabilities of PAFS

Major dynamic instabilities that can occur in PAFS and evaluation methods for these instabilities will be presented.

-           Dynamic instabilities which can occur in a two-phase natural circulation system

-           Evaluation methodologies for each dynamic instability (Linear and Non-Linear Analysis)

-           Selection of dynamic instabilities for APR+ PAFS

     Task 4. Provide major dynamic instability maps (Non-Linear Analysis)

Maps of major dynamic instabilities that can occur in PAFS based on non-linear analysis will be presented.

-           Draft version of RELAP5/MOD3.3 input deck for PAFS will be provided by KEPCO E&C.

-           Heat exchanger tube modeling

-           Input and output files for each evaluation case

-           Evaluation results (graph)

-            Dynamic instability maps

 

     Task 5. Draft report documenting results

 

     Task 6. Process Review Meeting

The contractor shall host a 5 day meeting at the contractor's offices with KEPCO E&C engineers to conduct a review of the PAFS.

-           KEPCO E&C Engineers would provide an overview of the design.

-           The Contractor engineers would present results of review of KEPCO E&C calculation and evaluation on instabilities of PAFS.

 

     Task 7. Final report documenting results
