On December 14, KEPCO E&C formed an agreement with five small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) on the “Seed-Type SME Joint Research Project” and held a meeting on the theme of win-win cooperation.

This agreement was made as part of an SME-oriented win-win program geared to ramp up technological cooperation through joint research with SMEs to achieve industrial transitions such as digital transformation and carbon neutrality in the energy industry.

The signing ceremony was attended by officials from each company, including CEO Lee Young-ho at Libridge Global, Director Kim Jong-ho at HUPEC (Hanul Power E&C), CEO Park Gyeong-tae at Korea Silica Paint, Director Oh Jun-hyeok at Value Data, and CEO Lee Byung-cheol at FNC Technology, including Kim Yong-soo, head of the Power Technology Research Institute.

Through this agreement, the company will invest about 75% of the total research cost for each project in the development of technologies related to the market entry basis for further developing the new and renewable energy industry geared to 4th Industrial Revolution technology, and also supports specialized research personnel in specific technology fields required by small and medium-sized enterprises.

CEOs of SMEs who attended the meeting following the signing ceremony pledged to “actively cooperate in ongoing joint research and technology development alongside KEPCO E&C,” and Kim Yong-soo, head of the Power Technology Research Institute, also said, “Based on the characteristics and capabilities of energy-specialized technology companies we will actively participate in realizing the social value of mutual prosperity through support for small and medium-sized enterprises."
