On September 1, KEPCO E&C signed an MOU with the Czech State Atomic Energy Research Institute ÚJV Řež in Prague, Czech Republic, including a technical seminar to promote business cooperation.

Founded in 1955, ÚJV Řež is a nuclear research institute and a leading engineering company in the Czech Republic with over 65 years of experience in the nuclear industry. It is also participating in technical support for operating nuclear power plants and constructing new nuclear power plants in the Czech Republic.

This technical seminar proceeded in the order of ▶ APR1000 design overview, ▶ fluid system design, ▶ nuclear system design, ▶ measuring control design, ▶ safety analysis, ▶ site design, ▶ mechanical design, and ▶ core design. And major officials including Director Kim Myung-Ro and ÚJV Řež CEO Daniel JǏKA were in attendance.

In addition, by signing an MOU between the two companies to promote exchanges between leading design companies of both countries, it was decided to expand the scope of technical consultations on ▲ the basic and detailed design of the APR1000 and local requirements, as well as ▲ Czech licensing and regulatory requirements, while increasing technical collaboration.

Kim Myung-Ro, the director said, "We expect to create greater synergy between the Republic of Korea and Czech Republic by expanding the scope of cooperation with ÚJV Řež, which has unmatched history in the nuclear industry and technical support experience in operating nuclear power plants in the Czech Republic."

As part of normalizing cooperative relations with related companies in the Czech Republic, KEPCO E&C will hold related events such as technical seminars in South Korea next year to contribute to exporting nuclear power plants to the Czech Republic.
