KEPCO E&C signed the "MOU for Cooperation in New Nuclear Power Plant Business in Poland" with ZRE Katowice at an event dubbed “Night of Korea’s Nuclear Power Plants and Hi-Tech Industry” in Warsaw, Poland on June 30 (local time).

ZRE is considered a major potential supplier for the construction of new nuclear power plants in Poland as it carries out business related to power generation facilities in Poland, including engineering in the field of plumbing and metrology control.

“Building a local cooperative network in engineering is an important challenge and a competitive advantage to design a nuclear power plant that is best suited for a country new to nuclear power plants. We will secure competitive advantage in winning new nuclear power plant projects in Poland by finding more competent potential suppliers such as ZRE and expanding the cooperation network,” said KEPCO E&C CEO Kim Sung-arm.

Poland plans to introduce six nuclear power plant units by 2043 to ease its dependence on coal power and achieve carbon neutrality. The total project cost for the introduction of the new Polish nuclear power plant is expected to reach approximately 40 trillion won.
