MOU with TES in the Czech Republic

KEPCO E&C signed the “MOU for Cooperation in New Nuclear Power Plant Business in the Czech Republic” with Czech engineering firm TES on June 28.

The MOU signing ceremony was held in Prague, Czech Republic as part of an event dubbed “Night of Korea's Nuclear Plants and Hi-Tech Industry.”

The signing ceremony was attended by officials from the two companies, including KEPCO E&C President Kim Sung-arm and TES CEO Oto Mareček, as well as government officials such as the Korean Minister of Trade, Industry, and Energy and the Deputy Minister of the Czech Ministry of Trade and Industry.

As a nuclear engineering company established in 1992, TES provides safety analysis and commissioning support for the Czech and Slovak nuclear power plants.

Through this MOU, the two companies agreed to cooperate in the fields of ▲ APR1000 safety analysis, ▲ power plant licensing, ▲ and technical matters related to local regulations.

“We expect the cooperation with TES, which has extensive experience and excellent capacity in nuclear safety analysis, to create many synergies. We hope to continue our partnership for the long term for the new nuclear power plant in Dukovany and follow-up nuclear power plant construction and maintenance in the Czech Republic,” said KEPCO E&C President Kim Sung-arm.

Following his visit to the Czech Republic until June 29, President Kim Sung-arm plans to visit Poland on June 30 and continue his effort to win nuclear plant projects. He will promote the design characteristics of Korean nuclear power plants and KEPCO E&C’s excellent design know-how and build the foundation for cooperation with local companies. The company will also accelerate efforts to win project orders in Poland and Czech Republic.
