KEPCO E&C, on March 23, signed a contract for ITER engineering consulting service with Vitzronextech, a Korea-based equipment and material supplier.

The signing ceremony was attended by officials from both companies, including Park Beom-Seo, head of the Nuclear Division, and Lee Byung-Ho, CEO of Vitzronextech.

Vitzronextech has been prominent in nuclear fusion equipment by winning about 10 ITER projects, including ITER IVC Busbar system design and manufacturing projects. In December last year, it signed a business agreement for ITER project cooperation with KEPCO E&C.

KEPCO E&C will provide technical support for Vitzronextech‘s ITER equipment supply projects for four years by utilizing its know-how accumulated through the comprehensive design of nuclear power plants and ITER technical services.

With this contract, KEPCO E&C plans to expand technical support to help Korean nuclear system suppliers receive more opportunities for projects ordered by ITER and foster the nuclear fusion supply chain in Korea with a foothold in new overseas markets.
