KEPCO E&C has won the design contract for extension of ITER Tokamak main coil power source supply device ordered by the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER) organization in France.

Tokamak main coil power source supply device is essential equipment for the operation of Tokamak’s plasma that allows nuclear fusion to occur with heavy hydrogen and tritium. It is used to turn alternating electric current into direct current and provides it to 12 Tokamak electromagnetic coils.

This work is particularly significant since the company was able to win it thanks to our highly regarded nuclear power plant design technology accumulated over the past half-century and our successful execution of ITER nuclear fusion projects over the past decade.
