KEPCO E&C signed an agreement with energy-related SMEs on cooperative research projects with seed-type SMEs at the Seoul Business Center on December 8 and held a conference on the theme of collaborative cooperation on the same day.

The signing ceremony was attended by representatives of six SMEs (Leebridge, Korea Consultant, TIS, HCT, Nextorm, and FNC Technology), including Director of Power Technology Institute Yeom Hak-gi and officials from each company.

This agreement is one of the win-win with SME programs implemented to create a new ecosystem through the digital transformation of the energy industry. The programs aim to develop convergence technologies by identifying innovative ideas centered on D.N.A. (data, network, artificial intelligence) and incorporating them into existing energy businesses.

KEPCO E&C will invest approximately 75% of the total R&D expenditure and support professional research personnel in specific technology fields required by SMEs.

By signing the agreement, the participating SMEs will execute new R&D projects for digital engineering, EMS in North America, and development of element technologies for virtual power plants (VPP). KEPCO E&C expects to secure innovative digital technologies to lead future new businesses.

SMEs attending the signing events pledged to collaborate actively with KEPCO E&C in technology development linked with digital transformation. According to Yeom Hak-gi, Director of KEPCO E&C Power Technology Institute, the company is committed to realizing social values of shared growth by actively supporting SMEs based on the characteristics and competency of the specializing energy technology company.
