KEPCO E&C received the Gold Award and Special Award for “Peak-Load Power Generation Equipment Using Disused Ships” at the BIXPO International Invention & Patent Fair held on November 12, 2021.

BIXPO is a global comprehensive energy expo sponsored by the Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) for information exchange on the future of electric power technology. Held as a side event, the International Invention & Patent Fair is an invention/patent exhibition officially certified by the International Federation of Inventors Association (IFIA), showcasing the latest invention technologies in the electric power field worldwide.

The award-winning technology submitted by KEPCO E&C is “an advanced multi-platform technology for offshore wind farms reusing disused ships” that proposes strategies to secure the relevant technologies to lead the renewable energy industry (wind power sector) to achieve VISION 2030, reflecting the government's energy transition policy, expand the offshore wind power business as the core industry for the Green New Deal, and overcome the renewable energy volatility (restriction of renewable energy output).

KEPCO E&C expects the invention to play a key role in the current trend toward carbon neutrality.
