KEPCO E&C conducted the first simulation training for responding to DDoS attacks in 2021 at its head office on September 30 under the supervision of the Cybersecurity Control Office.

This simulation training was conducted to enhance understanding of DDoS attack situations and response procedures, verify internally the emergency response system against DDoS attacks by inspecting the network and information protection system operations for each situation, and improve deficiencies.

KEPCO E&C operates an information protection system to respond to DDoS attacks; it has deployed a defense response system in collaboration with an Internet private line service provider to respond to large-scale cyberattacks.

KT, an information protection system maintenance vendor, and 24 in-house cybersecurity experts participated in the training and successfully conducted in-house defense response to DDoS attack and Clean-Zone defense response in collaboration with the Internet private line service provider at the time of a large-scale attack.

KEPCO E&C is strengthening VPN monitoring and control in preparation for exposure to external threats due to the recent expansion of remote work. It will do its best to ensure that its information systems seamlessly respond to cyber threats.
