Support for enhancement of capability for verification of devices by nuclear equipment vendors

KEPCO E&C held the Nuclear Equipment Verification Seminar on September 8 to strengthen the nuclear power equipment suppliers' ability to perform verification tasks.

Held online (non-face-to-face), the event was attended by more than 100 nuclear engineers from nuclear equipment suppliers and nuclear-related agencies, including Hyundai Heavy Industries, LG Electronics, and Korea Testing Laboratory.

The seminar included in-depth presentations and Q&A on subjects such as △ Reliability improvement through validation of seismic analysis model, △ Separation criteria for exemption of nuclear radiation emission test, △ Inspection status and regulatory direction for suppliers, etc., △ Seismic verification using CAE for replacement parts for operating nuclear power plants, △ Review on the improvement of Commercial Grade Item Dedication (CGID) licensing standards in Korea, △ Introduction and future plan of the global information system for performance verification, and △ component-level EMC verification.

“Let’s strive to restore public confidence in nuclear safety by sharing the nuclear equipment verification information and enhance the competitiveness of the nuclear industry through quality assurance,” said Park Beom-seo, acting Head of the Nuclear Division.

KEPCO E&C continuously supports technologies related to the verification of devices by nuclear equipment suppliers and plans to lead the improvement of nuclear safety and restoration of public confidence by assuring the quality of safety-related devices.
