KEPCO E&C shipped on April 15 the final supply of nuclear reactor parts to be used in the facility improvement project of the 4th Darlington in Canada from the Sunkwang Techwin Factory located in Changwon, Gyeongnam.

Starting with Korea’s first contract to supply heavy water reactor parts in Korea in 2015, the company supplied parts such as bearing sleeves, journaling, and shielding sleeves used for the end fittings of fuel pipes in heavy water reactors.

Based on its design and quality management capabilities and Sunkwang Techwin’s manufacturing know-how, KEPCO E&C has successfully delivered nuclear reactor parts to Darlington Units 1, 2, and 3. The shipment of nuclear reactor parts for Unit 4 is the last stage of the project.

KEPCO E&C plans to use the successful supply of reactor parts to Darlington Units 1, 2, 3, and 4 as the foundation to expand the part supply business to Bruce Units 3 to 8 in Canada and Cernavoda Nuclear Plant in Romania, which are expected to carry out large-scale facility improvements.
