Agreement with KAIA for a government program

On March 30, KEPCO E&C signed the agreement with the Korea Agency for Infrastructure Technology Advance (KAIA) to cooperate for the government program “Development of public transportation infrastructure technologies based on hydrogen in foreign countries”.

The government program managed by Korea Gas Technology Corporation (KOGAS-Tech) is executed by 13 companies, including KEPCO E&C, Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power, KAERI, and Doosan Fuel Cell, for 57 months from April 2021. The total project cost is about KRW 34.0 billion (KEPCO E&C’s portion: KRW 2.6 billion).

KEPCO E&C’s research & development is ① the review of requirement to link with power systems of hydrogen production facilities, ② the design of the main power system to link the hydrogen production facilities in Korea and UAE and the renewal energy/grid, and ③ the development and implementation of the cloud-based hydrogen energy management system (EMS).

KEPCO E&C plans to expand its business domain by securing the design technology and intellectual properties for the green hydrogen plant implementation business in Korea and other countries and play the leading role in creating new business opportunities in green hydrogen field and execute Korea’s New Deal policy.
