KEPCO E&C’s conducted the education of the Russian reactor model (VVER) design and application code by inviting Professor Nam Gung-in of KEPCO International Nuclear Graduate School (KINGS) at its Nuclear Reactor Design Development Division in Daejeon on June 12.

This education, following the education of the ITER diagnosis system conducted on June 11, was conducted as part of capability enhancement for future business creation in the era of energy conversion. More than 30 employees in the Nuclear Energy Division and Nuclear Reactor Design Division attended the education.

The education program included the introduction and strengthens/weaknesses of the VVER reactor model, Russian national specification (GOST) and nuclear regulation, the current status of VVER reactor power plants, and suggestions for business development. Questions and answers in key issues followed it.

KEPCO E&C plans to continue its effort to strengthen technologies related to a variety of reactor models and actively participate in global business development by identifying the new business with nuclear power plants in Eastern Europe.
