KEPCO E&C signed an MOU for the formation of the Gimcheon Dream Valley for Shared-Growth Council at the Korea Expressway Corporation on May 10.

The Gimcheon Dream Valley for Shared-Growth Council is being formed to cultivate emerging local industries and create jobs through voluntary shared growth programs in Gimcheon Innovative City.

The Council will be composed of members from eight organizations including the Korea Expressway Corporation, Korea Transportation Safety Authority, Korea Construction Management Corporation, Korea Commission for Corporate Partnership, Gimcheon City Hall, Gimcheon Chamber of Commerce, and Daegu Gyeongbuk Institute of Science & Technology.

The MOU is significant in that diverse organizations from different industries have voluntarily initiated the collaboration for mutual growth in a bid to realize strong social values.

“These organizations all have very different business areas and characteristics, but we expect to achieve a great and previously unimaginable synergy by combining the key elements of each organization,” declared Lee Dong-geun, the Executive Auditor of KEPCO E&C. “We will cooperate with the other members of the Dream Valley for Shared-Growth Council to promote the growth of the local community.”

After the MOU signing ceremony, Professor Choi Dong-jin of Hongik University gave a special lecture titled “Smart City and Energy” in which he presented the direction of future programs of the Gimcheon Dream Valley for Shared-Growth Council.

KEPCO E&C plans to fulfill its social responsibility as a public institution and actively support the government programs by participating in the Council’s activities, which include the establishment of a smart city and efforts to reduce the wage gap between large and small companies.
