For the stable supply of energy, Korea has implemented diversification of power generator fuel policy since the early 1970s with major focus on expanding the supply of thermal power plants using bituminous coal and natural gas as fuel. Accordingly, KEPCO E&C developed coal fired thermal power plant A/E technology, which is appropriate for domestic circumstances, and has excellent technology and economic feasibility.
From super-critical pressure 500MW class Korean standard coal fired thermal power plants to upgraded capacity 800MW class coal fired thermal power and high capacity next generation 1000MW class thermal power, KEPCO E&C has secured world-class power plant engineering technology. Furthermore, KEPCO E&C has successfully implemented the engineering of 300MW class Integrated Gasification Combined Cycle (IGCC) Pilot Plant to open an era of commercialization of highly efficient and clean thermal power plant technology. Also, in Combined Heat & Power Plants field and Combined Cycle Power Plant field, we have performed A/E for over 60 units to secure market competitiveness.
KEPCO E&C is also concentrating on developing future thermal power plant engineering technology such as 700℃ Class ultra super-critical pressure highly efficient and clean thermal power plant technology to respond to the reduction of green house gas at the international level in accordance with the Paris Agreement
