On September 20, the inauguration ceremony for fuel loading at Shin Hanul Unit 2, where our company has been engaged in reactor system design and other comprehensive services, was held on site.

The event was attended by key participants and stakeholders, including Vice President Park Beom-seo, Director General Kim Myung-ro, and Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power President & CEO Hwang Joo-ho.

In 14 years after contracting for reactor system design and comprehensive services in 2009, Shin Hanul Unit 2 has received operational approval from the Nuclear Safety and Security Commission (183rd session) on September 7, following completion of all preliminary inspections by regulatory authorities.

For the first time, Shin Hanul Units 1 and 2 have successfully completed domestic production of key equipment, including the Reactor Coolant Pump (RCP) and the Man-Machine Interface System (MMIS). This achievement is particularly significant in view of the government's new energy policy, which will kickstart the nuclear industry’s normalization policy.

With the start of this fuel loading, Shin Hanul Unit 2 will undergo six months of trial operations before commencing commercial operations at the end of March 2024.
