Reason(s) for the Sole Sourcing The objective of this technical consultation is to setup material model and damping parameters for nonlinear dynamic analysis of RC shear wall using Abaqus. Therefore, an expert who has various experiences on nonlinear analysis and numerical approach using the commercial program, Abaqus, should be selected as a consultant. Prof. Amit H. Varma is a principal of STANEX LLC and a professor of Purdue University, and his research are of expertise is computational and experimental study on the behavior of structural components and systems under various loading conditions. His research focuses on the behavior, analysis and design of concrete and SC composite structures under earthquake, fire, etc. through experimental and analytical studies. He has been conducting many research projects on the basis of model development and numerical simulation using Abaqus for the verification of experimental results. Since Prof. Varma in STANEX LLC has a lot of experiences on the experimental and numerical researches of civil structures including safety-related NPP structures, he serves as a technical committee member of AISC, ACI, ASCE, NEES, and EERI. Therefore, Prof. Varma in STANEX LLC can provide KEPCO E&C with valuable technical consultation which is applicable to the nonlinear analysis of shear wall structures using Abaqus.
