On March 7, KEPCO E&C carried out the year’s first joint cybersecurity training exercise (government, industry, and academia) with the National Intelligence Service (NIS) and Yeungnam University College at our headquarters building.

The session was organized with NIS playing the lead role and 15 cybersecurity experts participating to review and ensure our cybersecurity control works normally in the event of an AI-based cyberattack in a real business environment.

At the session, our internal cybersecurity control/ defense system capability was demonstrated, using the latest hacking and cyberattack techniques used by our internet network information system. The session was successfully carried out, using our security/ information protection system.

The session was a good opportunity to review the level of our cybersecurity control system against a current hacking attack. We intend to come up with supplementary steps for some sectors having areas for improvement and to strengthen our information security system further.

We plan to work more closely with relevant institutions such as NIS, the MOTIE-Cyber Security Center, etc. to be able to cope with cyber threats that are getting ever more sophisticated more effectively to increase customers’ trust in us and protect our design/ technical data from cyber threats.
