KEPCO E&C received a four-day inspection for renewal of the KEPIC MN/SN certification from July 20 to 23.

The review is aimed to check the KEPCO E&C’s ability for undertaking nuclear design technology project in which the KEPIC Code is applied. It was the seventh review for renewal of the certification since the company first obtained it in 1999.

For the latest inspection, KEPCO E&C formed a KEPIC certification renewal task force around the Sin-Gori Units 5 & 6 of the Nuclear Power Headquarters and conducted a pilot project within the certification scope -- KEPIC MN (drying of Class 1, 2, and 3 distribution channels) and KEPIC SN (design of components and accessories for containment structures and Class 1 earthquake-resistant steel structures).

Through the review, KEPCO E&C was once again recognized for having the proper quality guarantee system and procedures for maintaining KEPIC MN/SN certification, and for having the capability to perform KEPIC-applied design technology tasks in the field of nuclear power.

KEPCO E&C expects that the successful review will once again enhance the credibility of the company's business performance capability in the field of nuclear power design.
