Support for enhancement of capability for the verification of devices by nuclear

KEPCO E&C held the “Seminar for nuclear equipment verification” at the International Seminar Room in its headquarters building on April 24.

The event was hosted by KEPCO E&C and the Korea Nuclear Equipment Advancement Association and participated in by more than 150 technical professionals from nuclear equipment suppliers and nuclear-related agencies such as the Korea Institute of Nuclear Safety, Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power, Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction, Hyundai Heavy Industries, and Korea Testing Laboratory.

The seminar included in-depth presentation and discussion in each of the five subjects including △ inspection regulation of suppliers and others related to equipment verification, △ review point of seismic verification documents, △ trend of electromagnetic compatibility verification technology and regulation for the safety of nuclear power plants, △ certification status of performance verification institutions and inquiries, and △ standard for the technology review of environmental verification in warmer environments. The purpose of the seminar was to improve the capability for the verification of nuclear equipment suppliers.

“Let’s strive to restore public confidence in nuclear safety by sharing the nuclear equipment verification information and enhance the competitiveness of the nuclear industry through quality assurance,” said Jin Tae-eun, Executive Senior Vice President of KEPCO E&C.

KEPCO E&C continuously supports technologies related to the verification of devices by nuclear equipment suppliers and plans to lead the improvement of nuclear safety and restoration of public confidence by assuring the quality of safety-related devices.
