MOU with KEPCO KDN to cooperate for construction of smart plants

KEPCO E&C singed MOU with KEPCO KDN on March 27 to cooperate for construction of smart plants.

Attending the signing event included officials of the two companies including Byeon Hwa-woon, Executive Senior Vice President of KEPCO E&C, and Nam Seong-woo, Head of Power Convergence Business Division of KEPCO KDN.

Smart plant in the MOU refers to an intelligent power plant that increases the business efficiency and maximizes the productivity through predictive diagnosis and maintenance optimization using the big data analysis by linking the site information of a power plant to a digital twin power plant using core technologies related to the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

With the signing of the MOU, both companies agreed to share the information about the interchange human resources and education/training support and cooperate for the execution of each company’s role for ▶ the new business development and technical cooperation for the Fourth Industries in power sector, ▶ the technical cooperation for global business, ▶ the cooperation to establish and expand the foundation for digital transformation in the power industry, and ▶ the implementation of the smart plant.

KEPCO E&C plans to expand the ICT solution business to lead smart plants and the Fourth Industrial Revolution in the power sector and expects it will have a significant synergy effect in enhancing the competitiveness of the national plant industry.
